PlayNotes History:
NCAOSA’s newsletter, in print since 1978, has been a forum for chapter members and colleagues to contribute and read about teaching, learning and music-making. In Fall of 2006, the name was changed from The Orffion to PlayNotes. In 2014 the newsletter converted to a digital format, and in January of 2016 the PlayNotes blog was created to allow a more user-interactive format where readers are able to share, follow, and comment on posts. With the blog we have also been able to reach beyond our chapter to connect with a wider audience, sharing our work with other colleagues and educators from around the globe. Since the blog’s inception, it has been viewed over 1500 times and has had over 700 visitors from a wide range of countries, with regular readership in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Morocco, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, the UK, and more!
